Yoga nidra
Yoga Nidra, OR, also known as “Yogic Sleep”, is a form of guided meditation designed to induce deep relaxation. It's similar to a Restorative Workshop, where you’ll be in a comfortable place on your mat, typically on your back, in your favourite restorative form using bolsters, blocks, blankets etc. The difference though, is that you won’t be moving for the duration of the practice, so you won’t be changing position throughout. The meditation begins with a guided body scan followed by a series of guided visualizations that will move you through all your senses. Observing and welcoming all that arises in you as you surrender into a deeply relaxed state. It will leave you feeling peaceful, relaxed and rejuvenated, with a renewed sense of connectedness and well-being.
Yoga Nidra is for everyone and is especially helpful for those experiencing an anxious mind, depressed mood, insomnia and/or chronic pain. Studies have shown that Yoga Nidra is helpful in managing PTSD and trauma. Bringing your mind and body into a deep relaxation cultivates a sense of calm that encourages healing and acceptance. It can calm your mind, aide in better sleep, relieve stress & fatigue, lift your mood and bring relief to symptoms of anxiety &/or depression, chronic pain.
