Chair Yoga is designed for those who have difficulty getting up and down from a yoga mat, but who want to gain the health benefits that yoga provides. Exercise doesn’t have to be rigorous to be effective, and we know that when we engage in physical movement it promotes more flexibility, better circulation, increased stability and confidence, and overall good health. Studies have shown that certain breathing exercises can be used to both invigorate and/or calm your nervous system, thereby creating a sense of balance. Yoga provides that sense of balance and well-being by incorporating gentle movement with the breath, and invoking peace and clarity with quiet meditation. It also connects us with others and builds a sense of community and oneness.
